Privacy

One third-party service runs here, Google Analytics, and it measures which pages people visit. Everything else is as small as it looks: no account to create, no advertising, and nothing you type into the calculator is sent anywhere at all.

The short version

The whole position in five lines. Each one is a statement about the code that builds this site, not an intention.

Google Analytics loads on every page and records that the page was viewed. It is the only third-party script here, and the only request any page makes off this domain.
Nothing you enter into the calculator is transmitted. No custom event is configured, so your scores, your species and your class never reach Google or anybody else.
No advertising, and no advertising network is given a way to see you here.
No accounts, no sign-in, and therefore no profile to hold anything against.
Google Analytics sets cookies of its own. Nothing else on the site sets any.

What Google Analytics collects

Google Analytics 4 is used to see which pages people actually find useful, which ones they leave immediately, and whether a search result led anywhere. That is the whole purpose; there is nothing here to sell you and nobody buying the numbers.

What it records: That a page was viewed, which page it was, roughly where in the world the request came from, and what kind of browser and device made it. Google works the location out from the network address rather than being told it, and it is coarse — a country or region, not a street.
What it never receives: Anything you do inside the calculator. Only the default page view is sent, and no custom event is configured, so the scores you buy, the species you pick and the class you load are not transmitted anywhere. They are computed in your browser and stay there.
What identifies you: A random identifier kept in a cookie, which lets Google count a returning visit as the same visitor rather than a new one. It is not a name, an email or an account, and this site never sees it in a form that could be tied to a person.
Who can see it: The aggregate reports go to one person, the same one named on the about page. The data is not shared with anybody, not sold, and not fed to an advertising product.

How to turn it off

None of it is necessary for the calculator to work, so blocking it costs you nothing on this site. Any of these will stop it.

A content blocker or a privacy-focused browser will block the script before it loads. Nothing on this site breaks when it does — the calculator does not depend on it in any way.
Google publishes an official browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics on every site, not just this one.
Blocking cookies for this domain in your browser settings stops the identifier being kept, so repeat visits stop being recognisable as repeat visits.
A private or incognito window discards the cookie when you close it, so each session starts unrecognised.

The two things that are stored, both on your machine

Two features of the calculator keep something, and both keep it on your own machine, where you can delete it without asking anyone. Neither has anything to do with analytics and neither ever leaves your browser.

Restore Last Build: Pressing Save writes your current scores into your browser’s local storage under a single key. It is read back only when you press Restore. Clearing your browsing data removes it, and nothing is written unless you press the button.
Copy and Share: Copying an array or a link uses your browser’s clipboard, and only at the moment you click. Nothing is uploaded, and the site never reads your clipboard.

A share link carries the whole build in the address itself, after the question mark. That is a deliberate design choice: it means a shared build needs no database and no identifier, and the person who opens the link receives the scores directly from the address you sent them. It also means a share link is exactly as private as wherever you paste it, so treat it like any other URL you hand out.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets a small number of cookies on this domain, with names beginning _ga, and uses them to tell a returning visit apart from a new one. They are the only cookies here: no part of this site sets one of its own, and no other company sets one either. Google documents what each of them holds and how long it lasts, and that documentation is the authority on it rather than a restatement here.

Server logs and hosting

The pages are static files served by a hosting provider. Like any web server, that provider handles the network request your browser makes and may keep ordinary access logs of the kind every web server keeps, including the requesting address, for security and operational reasons. Requesting the analytics script reaches Google in the same way. Neither set of logs is available to this site, and neither is combined with anything else here.

Children

The site collects nothing from anybody, so it collects nothing from children either. There is no age gate because there is no data to gate.

If this ever changes

That promise has now been tested once. This page previously said there was no analytics on the site, which was true when it was written; adding Google Analytics made it false, so the page was rewritten in the same change that added the script and the change is dated in the changelog. Any further service would be handled the same way — the page updated at the same time, not afterwards.
